NTT DATA Services UK Limited Tax Strategy
This document regarding UK taxation is published by NTT DATA Services UK Limited (“NTT DATA Services UK”) in accordance with the requirements of paragraphs [19] and [22] of Schedule 19 of the UK Finance Act 2016. This document is effective for the financial year ending 31 March 2022 and will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary.

We are one of the leading information technology businesses specializing in the provision of information technology services, including consulting services, application services, business process outsourcing and infrastructure services.
Risk Management and Governance Arrangements
As an organisation we are committed to highest ethical standards and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, social standards, and internal business policies.
The NTT Data Services UK business is overseen by our UK business leaders, supported by our global Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) and experienced finance and tax teams. The CFO is responsible for the risk management, governance arrangements and oversight. Under his oversight, the respective finance and tax teams ensure that robust tax administration (including timely filing of tax returns, making of tax payments and prompt dealings with any queries from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (‘HMRC’)) is maintained.
NTT DATA Services UK maintains policies of internal control systems as approved by senior management of the business to deal with various risks including tax. In accordance with UK rules, the NTT DATA Services UK business has nominated a Senior Accounting Officer (SAO). The SAO ensures that appropriate tax accounting arrangements are maintained.
As part of the overall risk management and governance arrangements, NTT DATA Services UK business is also supported by external advisors. The business is committed to maintaining and enhancing tax compliance by ensuring that appropriate training and guidance is provided to its finance and tax staff.
Despite the unprecedent challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused the global business community, NTT DATA has worked with our internal and external tax partners to ensure that there has been no disruption in corporate tax filings or tax liability payments.
Approach to tax planning
The NTT DATA Services UK business undertakes business transactions in a way that may include the claiming of statutorily available reliefs, exemptions and / or incentives that are consistent with the UK tax legislation. In addition to the above, tax advisors are consulted in advance on complex points of law and / significant transactions. The NTT DATA Services UK business has a low tolerance to tax risks.
